Demoing Identity Providers
Digital IDs can be tricky to demo. Not every provider supports test data, which means some demos require a real, live credential to test end-to-end. Here are four reliable ways to demo identity providers to prospects and stakeholders.
01 — Demo using test data
The simplest option, but not all providers support a sandbox or test mode. For a full list, see Providers with Test Data Available →

02 — Demo with live credentials
Live demos using real credentials can be compelling, but keep in mind that team members may have access to different credential types depending on geography, and many people prefer not to show personal data during a prospect call.
If your team is comfortable proceeding, here are the strongest options:
| Type | Providers | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| mDLs | CA DMV Wallet, Google Wallet | Google Wallet's ID Pass is widely accessible in the US and UK and requires no approvals for demo use |
| Bank-based IDs | iDIN, BankID Sweden, OneID (UK) | |
| Private reusable IDs | Yoti | Free, globally accessible, strong UX: a great starting point |
| Government digital IDs | DigiLocker (India) |

03 — Show pre-recorded demo videos
Often the most scalable option, especially across geographies.
✅ PII can be scrubbed before sharing
✅ The flow can be paused or replayed
✅ Anyone can share the same high-quality demo regardless of geography
Need footage from a specific market? Use Trinsic's Testing program, our network of production Acceptance Testers can record real credential flows, and we'll redact PII before delivering the final video.
04 — Use slides with screenshots
A lightweight alternative to video. Slides with step-by-step screenshots are easy to present, easy to update, and avoid the unpredictability of live demos.
Pull screenshots from Trinsic demo videos or your own recordings to build a simple visual walkthrough.
